Problem and Solution

With an upward rise in adults being diagnosed late in life with autism, many will start seeking out accommodations and compassion from their teams. To prepare for this, managers and co-workers will need to understand what autism really looks like and how autistic people's needs can be met in the workplace- easily!

Process

After the concept was born, I wrote up a quick, script-based Storyboard based on the in depth research I previously completed. Using a script based storyboard made the most sense for this project as it was incredibly important that the accurate, high level information was at the forefront. I also added in a few notes for myself about potential design elements, but also planned on a more agile approach for this design, working on the graphic elements during the main build.

Full Development

After that, I began work in Articulate Rise 360, to design the product in full. While working in Rise, I made several edits to the overall layout, structure, and design as I adjusted for flow and ease of use. I wanted to ensure that while the training provided a lot of in depth information, it did not feel weighed down or monotonous.

Feedback

While this project was a passion project for me, I still thrive on feedback. To satisfy this desire, I posted this project to my large group of ID connections on LinkedIn, where I received specific, detailed feedback on the project. Overall, the feedback showed that learners felt the subject matter was handled expertly, especially the use of popular media, making the content more relatable and understandable for learners without much prior knowledge on the subject. Positive comments were also made about the colors, design elements, and organization of the project, making it engaging and welcoming.
